An footy fan has called this year’s premiership result in spectacular fashion by getting a tattoo to commemorate his club’s victory months ahead of the big game.
A tradie by the name of Tommy got the highly visible ink on his right leg in December last year showing a Carlton player with the wording ‘Premiers 2023’ underneath after having a ‘vision’ that they won the trophy.
The AFL grand final isn’t set to be played for weeks with the MCG once again hosting on September 30 in the traditional 2.30pm timeslot after bosses decided against a shift to a twilight event.
Tradie Tommy got the ink after having an ‘out-of-body’ experience last year in which he envisioned Carlton winning the comp in 2023
‘It was round 23 last year, the Carlton v Collingwood game, and something popped up in my mind and I said to myself ‘I don’t care if we lose today as long as we win the grand final next year’,’ Tommy told .
‘I had an out of body experience in the last quarter.I envisioned Charlie Curnow kicking the winning goal at the Punt Road end, but it actually wasn’t for that game against Collingwood, it was for the 2023 grand final.’
Tommy, who has been a member of Carlton Football Club for 25 years, then went to Carlisle Tattoo in St Kilda to fully commit to his premonition.
‘Former players like Kenny Hunter, Marc Murphy, Stephen Kernahan and Brendan Fevola have seen the tattoo as have lots of current players,’ he said.
‘I want the players to see it, hopefully it will give them some incentive.’
Tommy has been a Carlton member for bayern münchen tröja 25 years and said a bunch of former players have seen the ink
A photo of the tattoo posted to social media caused a flood of comments with many divided over the ink.
‘I dunno about this…top eight for sure though,’ one said.
‘This is every Carlton supporter until finals roll around,’ another said.
‘At least you can change the 2023 to 2028 fairly easily,’ added a third.
Carlton is currently fifth on the ladder with Collingwood in the top spot.
The top eight teams will compete for a place in the grand final when the regular season wraps up at the end of August.
