Set in Rajkot, this Hindi television show revolves around a Gujarati joint family, the Modis. The show aims to explore the family's values and morals, focusing on the married lives of two cousins, Rashi and Gopi.The two have contrasting personalities and lives. The show is known for its notorious age leaps. Its popularity has led to it being dubbed and remade in Sri Lanka and languages like Telugu, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada, and Bengali.
3. Ye Hai Mohabbatein on Star Plus
An Indian soap opera, this show follows the love story of Tambram Ishita Iyer and Punjabi munda Ramankumar Bhalla.
Having completed 1000 episodes and won close to 50 awards, this show has seen massive ups and downs in terms of its storyline. Love, betrayal, custody battles, memory loss bouts, police arrests, and even murder, this has it all to keep you hooked. The cast includes TV actors Divyanka Tripathi, Karan Patel, and Anita Hassanandani in the lead roles, it took a seven-year leap in April 2016.
4. The Kapil Sharma Show on Sony TV
An Indian reality talk show and comedy series, Kapil Sharma has grown to become a beloved additional member of millions of Indian families. The only non-fictional show in the top five category, it focuses on Kapil and his neighbors who reside in Shantivan Non-Cooperative Housing Society.Broadcasted every weekend, the show invites famous Bollywood celebrities to its sofas. 5.Kumkum Bhagya on Zee TV
Loosely drawing inspiration from Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility, the show focuses on Sarla Arora, a Punjabi matriarch. She runs a marriage hall, with her wishing to see her daughters happy married. The show takes us through the two daughters' journey that is paved with misunderstandings, difficulties, family problems, and love.Starring TV actors Sriti Jha and Shabbir Ahluwalia as the lead actors, the show is at the #5 slow when it comes to TRPs.
